Government College, Nagrota Bagwan (Kangra) came into existence as Govt. College Nagrota Bagwan vide Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, Education Department Notification No. EDN-A-Kha(16)-10/95-Pt.III-loose Dated 24th June 2006. The college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill, Shimla-5.

B.Sc. (Medical) classes were started in the college vide official notification No. EDN-A-Kha(6)-1/2007-II-L Dated 29th May 2010.

Post Graduate Classes in English and commerce were started in the college in accordance to Official Notification No. EDN-A-B(15)-2/2013 Dated 29th June 2015.

Post Graduate Classes in Mathematics were started in the college in accordance to Notification No. EDN-H(8) A (1) 69/89-2010 (PG) Dated 6th September 2017.

We aim to nurture an atmosphere of intellectual vigour and moral rectitude in which the youth of the region may find their fulfilment, achieve success and contribute constructively towards the development of nation. Our constant endeavour is to provide a safe, secure and conducive learning environment to the underprivileged students from rural and semi urban areas, particularly girls who aspire for higher education.
